Raipur, September 25, 2026/ In view of heavy rainfall in various parts of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed the administration to remain fully alert and accord the highest priority to public safety. He instructed all district collectors to continuously monitor the rainfall and potential flood situation and take immediate relief and assistance measures wherever required.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “The administration is on alert. All district collectors have been directed to closely monitor the situation, respond promptly to any rainfall-related emergency and ensure that all necessary relief and assistance reach people without delay.”

Chief Minister Shri Sai urged citizens to exercise caution and follow official advisories during the spell of heavy rainfall. People should stay away from rivers, streams, waterfalls and other overflowing water bodies, as water levels can rise suddenly. Submerged bridges, culverts and roads should not be crossed, while safety barricades and restrictions imposed by the administration must be strictly observed. Unnecessary travel, particularly at night, should be avoided. People should also stay away from fallen electricity wires and report such hazards immediately to the concerned department, local administration or police.

He also advised parents to ensure that children and elderly family members do not venture out alone and urged residents of hilly and landslide-prone areas to remain particularly vigilant.

In an emergency, citizens should immediately contact Dial 112 or the local administration. For weather and relief-related information, the public should rely only on official and authorised sources and avoid forwarding rumours or misleading messages.
