Raipur, August 23, 2026/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing ceremony of the five-day photojournalism festival ‘Drishya Samvad 2026’, organised by the Raipur Press Club on the occasion of World Photography Day. He viewed the photo exhibition, appreciated the work of photojournalists and participants, and revisited several memorable phases of his public and personal life through photographs taken over the years.

The exhibition brought back memories ranging from Shri Sai’s first term as an MLA to his close association with village life and farming. In a memorable moment, the Chief Minister himself picked up a camera and photographed a photojournalist, briefly reversing the familiar roles of the person behind the lens and the public figure being photographed.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “Photographs are not merely records of events or moments; they preserve time, society, and memories for future generations.” A single photograph, he said, can often tell an entire story without words. Appreciating the role of photojournalists, he said they work even under difficult circumstances to capture significant moments of society and history, making photography an important and influential dimension of journalism.

While viewing photographs from different stages of his political journey, Chief Minister Shri Sai shared anecdotes with those accompanying him. On seeing a photograph from the time he was first elected MLA, he recalled that he had specially had a safari suit tailored for the occasion.

Another photograph showing him ploughing a field took him back to his farming days. Shri Sai said photographs associated with villages and agriculture remind him of his roots, fields and earlier life. He also shared some of his experiences of rural life with the photojournalists.
