Raipur, September 17, 2026/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai called upon the people of Chhattisgarh to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Deep’ in their homes this evening on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday and pray for his good health and long life. He said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, launched on Prime Minister Shri Modi’s birthday, seeks to take the spirit of service to every citizen and inspire greater public participation in nation-building.

Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing the Bhagwan Vishwakarma Puja and Farmers-Workers Felicitation Ceremony organised at Budhwari Bazaar Ground in Birgaon on September 17.

Extending greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti, the Chief Minister said the occasion holds special significance as it coincides with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s birthday. Bhagwan Vishwakarma, revered as the deity of creation, construction and craftsmanship, inspires society to respect labour and take pride in skills. At the same time, Prime Minister Shri Modi’s life exemplifies service, dedication and commitment to nation-building.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, several transformative initiatives have brought positive changes to the lives of low-income families, farmers, workers, youth and women. Initiatives providing permanent houses, household toilets, electricity and tap-water connections, and access to banking services through Jan Dhan accounts have made life easier for millions of people.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said farmers, workers, artisans and craftspeople are the true partners in Chhattisgarh’s progress. While farmers’ hard work fills the country’s granaries, workers shape roads, bridges, buildings, industries, and other infrastructure essential for development.

He said the resolve of a developed Chhattisgarh can be realised through their strength, skills and hard work. The State Government is therefore committed to honouring labour and ensuring security, prosperity and better opportunities for workers and their families.

The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set the national goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, with development reaching every section of society. In line with this vision, Chhattisgarh has also prepared its roadmap for building a prosperous, self-reliant and modern state by 2047.

Social Security and Education for Workers’ Families

Highlighting labour welfare initiatives, Chief Minister Shri Sai said various schemes provide financial assistance to registered workers and their families for needs ranging from childbirth and children’s education to livelihood support and other essential requirements.

Under the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana, 200 talented children from workers’ families are being provided opportunities to study in private residential schools. The Chief Minister urged eligible workers to register with the Labour Department so they can avail themselves of welfare schemes.

Women from workers’ families are also being supported with e-rickshaws to create self-employment opportunities and regular sources of income.

Farmers’ Prosperity Essential for Chhattisgarh’s Progress

Chief Minister Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh’s prosperity is closely linked to the prosperity of its farmers. The State Government is working to increase agricultural income, expand irrigation and make farming more remunerative.

He said the state is procuring 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3,100 per quintal, while farmers have also received two years of pending paddy bonus. Large irrigation projects have been approved to expand water availability for agriculture, improve productivity and support farmers’ incomes.

The Chief Minister said ensuring prosperity for farmers and security for workers’ families is the true way to honour the spirit represented by Bhagwan Vishwakarma.

Around Rs 175 Crore in Development Works in Birgaon

Referring to the development of Birgaon, Chief Minister Shri Sai said works worth around Rs 175 crore have been undertaken in the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area during the past two-and-a-half years.

Development works relating to roads, drinking water, sanitation, street lighting and other urban infrastructure are strengthening civic amenities in the area. He said further works would be taken forward according to Birgaon’s requirements.

The Chief Minister said the government’s development vision extends equally to villages, towns, cities and remote tribal regions, with a focus on providing essential infrastructure and services across Chhattisgarh.

Women’s Economic Self-Reliance Getting New Strength

Chief Minister Shri Sai said strengthening women’s economic self-reliance is a major priority for the State Government.

Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, eligible women are receiving regular financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. At the same time, women are being connected with skills, self-employment and livelihood opportunities, including through self-help groups, to strengthen their long-term economic independence.

Peace Opening New Development Opportunities in Bastar

Referring to Bastar, Chief Minister Shri Sai said initiatives such as Niyad Nella Nar are extending government schemes and basic amenities to remote villages and integrating these areas more closely with the state’s development journey.

He said Bastar’s natural beauty, tribal culture and forest produce offer significant potential for tourism and a forest-produce-based economy. Along with infrastructure, efforts are being made to expand opportunities in education, healthcare, communication and employment for local communities.

Chief Minister Felicitates 76 Achievers

At the ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai felicitated 76 achievers for notable contributions in fields including social and cultural activities, art, literature, social service, sports and science, presenting them with certificates of appreciation.

Congratulating the awardees, he said recognising outstanding contributions not only honours individual achievement but also encourages creativity, excellence and positive work in society.

Before the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai visited Mata Parmeshwari Temple, performed rituals and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh. He also offered prayers to Bhagwan Vishwakarma and extended greetings to workers, artisans, craftspeople, technicians and others engaged in construction and creative activities.

Minister for Skill Development, Technical Education, Employment and Scheduled Caste Development Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb also addressed the gathering. Raipur Rural MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, Dharsiwa MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, local public representatives, distinguished citizens, farmers, workers, representatives of various social organisations and a large number of residents were present.
