Seva Sankalp Yatra Not Just a Journey, but a Campaign Connecting Service, National Spirit and Youth Power: Chief Minister

Raipur, September 29, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra and Yuva Samvad’ programme organised at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur on Tuesday. Chief Minister Shri Sai warmly welcomed and felicitated the bike riders who reached Raipur after a long journey from Vadnagar in Gujarat under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, as well as those who arrived from various districts of the Bastar division.

Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a strong, self-reliant and developed new India is taking shape today. The Prime Minister considers the country’s 140 crore citizens as his family and remains continuously engaged in nation-building with a spirit of service. Under his leadership, India has established a new identity in the world, and the entire country is now moving rapidly towards realising the resolve of a developed India by 2047.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Seva Sankalp Yatra is an important medium for connecting the country’s youth power with service, social causes and nation-building. The journey, which began in Vadnagar, Gujarat, is carrying the message of service from the birthplace of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to his karmabhoomi, Varanasi. During the journey, young people are raising public awareness on important issues such as cleanliness, de-addiction, TB-free India and environmental conservation. The journey is further strengthening a sense of responsibility towards the nation and the spirit of service among the youth.

The Chief Minister said that more than 1.5 crore lamps were lit across Chhattisgarh under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday. The enthusiasm and warmth with which the people of the state participated in the initiative reflect their affection for and trust in the Prime Minister.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has shared a deep and close bond with Chhattisgarh. He has spent a considerable period in the state and has closely observed and understood the lives of its people. The Chief Minister said that in 2014, as a Union Minister of State, he had the opportunity to work with Prime Minister Shri Modi. During this period, he closely observed the Prime Minister’s working style, discipline, vision and dedication to national service.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has set the goal of building a developed India by 2047. In line with this goal, Chhattisgarh is also moving forward in a planned manner towards becoming a developed state. The State Government has prepared a vision document for ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh’ and formulated an action plan in accordance with future needs and opportunities. The government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of development reach every region and every citizen of the state.

Referring to the transformation in Bastar, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that an environment of peace, confidence, and development has now strengthened in areas once affected by violence and fear. Roads, education, healthcare and other basic facilities have expanded to remote areas. In the changing Bastar, the new generation is now dreaming big about its future.

During the Yuva Samvad held as part of the programme, students Govind Kumar, Drishti Dhruv, Deepak Markam and Deena Uikey, who have come from Bastar and are studying in schools in Raipur, shared their experiences. Expressing happiness over the changes in Bastar, the students conveyed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. They said that basic facilities such as schools, hospitals and roads are now expanding even in remote areas of Bastar. At the same time, the disappearance of the atmosphere of fear has created renewed confidence among children and youth about their future.

The students said that the new generation of Bastar now dreams of serving the country and the state by joining the Indian Army and civil services, as well as becoming doctors, engineers and excelling in various other fields. Appreciating the students’ views, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that these dreams visible in the eyes of Bastar’s children are the heartening picture of a changing Chhattisgarh. The government is working to ensure that every child in the state receives quality education and equal opportunities to move forward.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Rajeev Shukla shared details of the Seva Sankalp Yatra and informed that 1,200 youth are undertaking a journey of approximately 2,000 kilometres. During the journey, the youth are raising public awareness on various social issues, including cleanliness, TB-free India, de-addiction and environmental conservation.

Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Skill Development Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, MPs Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Smt Laxmi Verma and Shri V.D. Sharma, MLAs Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Kiran Singh Deo and Shri Anuj Sharma, chairpersons of various corporations, boards and commissions, Shri Rahul Tikriha, Shri Naveen Markandey, public representatives, distinguished citizens, bike riders participating in the Seva Sankalp Yatra and a large number of school students were present on the occasion.
