Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Vijayadashami holds special significance for the people of Chhattisgarh because of the state’s deep association with Lord Shri Ram. Chhattisgarh is regarded as the ‘Mayka’ (maternal home) of Mata Kaushalya and the ‘Nanihaal’ (maternal homeland) of Lord Shri Ram. According to religious beliefs, Lord Shri Ram spent a considerable period in the forest regions of Chhattisgarh during his exile, accompanied by Mata Sita and his brother Lakshman. Consequently, Lord Shri Ram remains deeply embedded in the faith, culture and everyday life of the people of Chhattisgarh.

He said that the life of Lord Shri Ram is an exceptional example of sacrifice, dignity, patience, courage and unwavering commitment to righteousness. Despite facing numerous hardships and challenges during his exile, he never strayed from the path of duty and righteousness. His life inspires people to move forward with patience, integrity and determination even in adverse circumstances.

By bringing together forest dwellers and the Vanara Sena, he confronted and defeated a formidable adversary like Ravana. This episode demonstrates that truth, righteousness, determination and collective effort are far more powerful than material resources and physical might.

He said that Vijayadashami gives us the courage to distinguish right from wrong and stand firmly for the truth. Lord Shri Ram’s struggle was not merely a battle against Ravana, but a struggle to establish righteousness and justice against injustice, oppression and unrighteousness.
