Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Vijayadashami holds special significance for Chhattisgarh because of the state’s deep and intimate association with Lord Shri Ram. Chhattisgarh is regarded as the ‘Mayka’ (maternal home) of Mata Kaushalya and the ‘Nanihaal’ (maternal homeland) of Lord Shri Ram. According to religious beliefs, Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita and Lakshman spent a considerable period in Chhattisgarh during their exile. As a result, the memories and ideals of Lord Shri Ram remain deeply rooted in the state’s folk culture, everyday life and collective consciousness.

He said that the life of Lord Shri Ram is an exceptional example of truth, dignity, patience, courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to justice. During his exile, he faced numerous hardships but never abandoned the path of righteousness and truth. Although Ravana possessed a vast army, immense power and formidable weapons, Lord Shri Ram defeated him through determination and the strength of righteousness. This teaches us that when our purpose is just, our resolve is firm and our path is truthful, even the greatest challenges can be overcome.

Chief Minister further said— the greatest message of Vijayadashami is that while the path of truth may be difficult, truth ultimately prevails. Lord Shri Ram’s struggle against Ravana was not merely a battle, but a great endeavour to establish righteousness and human values against injustice, oppression and unrighteousness.
