Raipur, 3 November 2026/ Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park in Sector 16 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on Tuesday. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were present. Shri Shah also planted a peepal sapling on the park premises, conveying a message of environmental conservation and a green future.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park has been created to give lasting expression to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s resolve for a developed India and carry the message of nation-building for future generations. Besides symbolising the vision of a developed, self-reliant and prosperous India, the park will convey a message of collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.

The park is an important step towards developing Nava Raipur as a green, clean and environmentally friendly modern city. So far, more than 2,500 peepal saplings and over 500 saplings of local species have been planted across its approximately 16 acres. It will play an important role in giving Nava Raipur a new identity as ‘Peepal City’, while enhancing the city’s green cover and ecological balance.

Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Skill Development Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb and other dignitaries were also present.

The ‘People for Peepal’ campaign is being undertaken to develop Nava Raipur as a green and environmentally friendly city. Its aim extends beyond planting saplings to involving citizens in their protection, growth and regular care, making environmental conservation a people’s movement.

Under this initiative, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park has been developed as a centre for environmental conservation, public participation and sustainable development. The peepal tree holds special spiritual and environmental significance in Indian culture. The campaign connects people’s reverence for the tree with nature conservation and community participation.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park will balance modern urban development with nature. The initiative will encourage future generations to be environmentally sensitive and participate actively in building a developed India.
