Raipur, August 3, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday flagged off a free ambulance for the people of Dharsiwa Assembly constituency from the Chief Minister’s Residence in Raipur. After performing traditional rituals, he handed over the keys to the ambulance driver in the presence of Dharsiwa MLA Shri Anuj Sharma and Health Department officials.

Chief Minister said the state government’s priority is to ensure timely, accessible and quality healthcare for every citizen. He said the government is continuously strengthening health infrastructure across the state so that people receive prompt medical assistance during emergencies.

Congratulating the people of Dharsiwa, Shri Sai said the first few moments after a medical emergency are often critical and timely access to a hospital can save lives. He expressed confidence that the new ambulance would play an important role in transporting pregnant women, critically ill patients, senior citizens and those injured in road accidents or other emergencies to healthcare facilities without delay.

 

He added that the government is expanding healthcare services in both rural and urban areas through hospital upgrades, modern medical equipment, appointment of specialist doctors, better availability of medicines and stronger emergency response systems. He said public health remains a top priority, as healthy citizens are the foundation of a prosperous society and a developed state.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharsiwa MLA Shri Anuj Sharma said the region had long felt the need for a modern ambulance. The vehicle has been provided through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) at a cost of ₹ 19.65 lakh. He said the service would significantly improve the speed and effectiveness of emergency medical care in the constituency. The ambulance has been stationed at the Community Health Centre in Dharsiwa and will operate round the clock. It is also expected to facilitate the safe and timely referral of critically ill patients to higher healthcare institutions.
