“It is completely unacceptable that the girls had to leave their school and walk to the Collectorate to seek solutions to their basic problems,” the Chief Minister said. He questioned why issues such as the prolonged disruption of electricity and other deficiencies had not been addressed by the officials concerned in time.

Chief Minister Shri Sai directed the Collector to conduct a thorough inquiry, fix responsibility and initiate action against officials and employees found negligent. He made it clear that negligence concerning the education, safety and basic facilities of children in residential schools and hostels in tribal areas would not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister ordered the immediate resolution of issues related to electricity, shortage of teachers, regular classes, mess facilities and sanitation. He also directed the administration to establish an effective mechanism through which students’ grievances could be heard and resolved promptly at the school and hostel levels.

Calling for regular reviews and continuous inspections of residential schools and hostels, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that children should have the assurance that their concerns will be heard and addressed promptly at the school and hostel level, without having to approach the administration themselves. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is continuously providing resources to ensure quality education and better facilities for children in tribal areas. Field-level officials must ensure that these resources and the benefits of government schemes reach the children effectively.
