Raipur, September 11, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that it is the responsibility of the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of the development and construction works related to public amenities while adhering to the prescribed quality standards. Unnecessary delays and negligence in any of the construction works across the state will not be tolerated. Officials must regularly monitor ongoing works, immediately remove any obstacles and accelerate projects wherever progress is slow.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that delays in development works directly affect the public. Timely completion and quality must be ensured, particularly in the construction of roads, bridges, culverts, schools and other essential infrastructure. He made it clear that negligence at any level in development works concerning public amenities and citizens’ safety will be taken under critical review and strict action will be taken.

In this context, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai took serious note of the difficulties being faced by schoolchildren and villagers due to an under-construction bridge in the Khambhatha area of Mainpur development block in Gariaband district. He spoke to Gariaband Collector Shri Ranbir Sharma over the phone to ascertain the situation and directed him to set a definite deadline for completing the bridge while ensuring construction quality. He also instructed that explanations be sought from the officials responsible for the delay.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said the safety of children is the highest priority. He directed the district administration to immediately arrange safe and convenient alternative access for schoolchildren and local residents so that they are not compelled to risk their safety while commuting until the bridge is completed.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also directed officials to immediately put all necessary safety measures in place at the bridge construction site. He instructed them to secure exposed and dangerously protruding iron rods, fill or safeguard deep pits and other hazardous areas, and install barricades wherever required.

Directing all the district collectors to regularly monitor construction works, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that obstacles affecting project execution must be resolved immediately and the pace of work accelerated. Officials must discharge their responsibilities with sensitivity and accountability and ensure that citizens receive the benefits of sanctioned development works within the prescribed timeframe.
